Paul became a Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru) staff member in 1966, and became vice president of network and partnerships in 2004. He directed Explo ‘72 in Dallas, an event that drew over 80,000 students from across America, and he founded the JESUS Film Project and served as its Director for 25 years. He has chaired the strategy working group for the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization and has served on several boards and advisory teams, including International Orality Network, AD2000 Movement, Call2All, and Global Pastors Network, Dynamic Church Planting International and Global Media Outreach.
He is president of Issachar Initiative, an organization focused on educating and challenging individuals, Christian entrepreneurs, foundations and resource providers to use their influence, expertise and giving to extend the reach of the Church toward the strategic elements of the Great Commission.
Paul also gives direction to Finishing the Task Movement, a global network of local churches, denominations, church planters, and mission agencies that are willing to work together in partnership to see church planting initiatives launched among the world’s Unengaged, Unreached People Groups. Paul is often heard asking, “These people have been waiting for 2,000 years to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. How much longer do they have to wait?”
Paul’s education includes a bachelor of arts and MBA from Michigan State University and a master’s degree from Fuller Theological Seminary’s School of World Missions.
Paul lives in Southern California with his wife Kathy. They have two children, and six grandchildren.
